Can I start a specialty service if my hospital doesn’t offer it?
Yes, please! If you’ve got a passion for a specialty and want to bring it to life at your hospital, we’re behind you.
Can I work at a different CVP hospital later on?
Of course! If another location, specialty, or setup fits your life better down the road, we’ll help you make the move.
What kind of benefits do you offer?
We’ve got the basics covered: health, dental, vision, life, and also things like paid parental leave, a 401(k) with match, mental health support 24/7, and no negative accruals, so you can actually enjoy your time off.
What kinds of clinical paths are available?
You name it, we’ve (probably) got it. General practice, exotics, equine, ER, cardiology, ophthalmology, you’ll find a lot of options across our hospitals.
Students
How do I learn more about student programs?

Are externships hands-on?
Absolutely. We meet you where you are and provide real experience, not just observation time.
Do you offer housing during externships?
Sometimes! Depends on the hospital and the program. Some offer housing or a travel stipend.
What’s VetTogether?
It’s a paid trip to Philly to hang out with other students, meet our team, and get to know CVP, all expenses covered.
Are externships paid?
Unless you’re in an official CVP program, most aren’t paid—but you’re always welcome to reach out for shadowing or an informal externship.
What externships are available during clinical year?
We work with a bunch of schools and offer flexible externships that can count toward your graduation. Let’s build something that works for you.
Can I rotate through more than one CVP hospital?
For sure. You can mix and match based on your interests and what’s available.
Can I do an externship in a specialty?
Yep! We’ve got ER, equine, ophthalmology, and a bunch more specialty options.
What’s the Student Colleague Program?
It’s an 8-week, hands-on experience at hospitals that love teaching. You can rotate if you want to try different spots or specialties.
Hospital Owners
If I sell to CVP, do I still get a say in hiring?
Yes. You and your team decide who’s a fit. We’ll support you with recruiting, but the final call’s yours.
What’s a typical CVP hospital like?
Great care, solid local reputation, and a team-first vibe. Each one’s different, but they all lead with compassion.
What happens to my team if I sell?
They stay. We partner with you because of the team you’ve built, and they’ll get the same great benefits and support as other CVP team members.

Can I keep referring to the specialists I’ve always worked with?
Of course. You’ll still work with whoever you trust most.
Do I have to change labs or suppliers?
Usually not. We have broad partnerships, and if there’s a better option, we’ll discuss it when the time’s right.
Will CVP tell me how to practice medicine?
Nope. You’re the clinical leader. You’ll keep making all the decisions for your patients.
Will I keep working if I sell?
Yes, if that’s what you want. We’ll work with you to figure out your ideal timeline for stepping back or staying on.
Will CVP put their name on my hospital?
No. Your hospital keeps its name, culture, and identity. That’s what makes us different: we’re a community, not a takeover.
